"The PA was friendly and accommodating but the receptionist staffing was less than friendly. Unfortunately they moved the appointment without notifying us. If less than 3 weeks from an appointment and needing to change a phone call would be better than a letter that never arrived. The receptionist staff made my mother feel like an idiot like she was old and senile despite having the card we were given with the date and time we showed up. I left feeling very disappointed in the receptionists who could have been much nicer instead of saying we were wrong, when we were not we just had not been notified. They then blamed us since we didn't get a text confirming today's appointment we should have known better and called first. Again the medical professionals were great and accommodating but the receptionist staffing was something to be desired."

"I had cancer 2 years ago and my insurance won't pay for me to go to Iowa city so I'm made to go to an obgyn for cancer follow ups. My provider did not go through my chart. She didn't know when to schedule another follow-up. She had no clue about follow-ups for someone with cancer. I'm sure she is kind and knows what she is doing. I just felt like she should've know when and what to do with the follow-ups and my questions. This makes me nervous and concerned."

"The initial phone call I received from your office to confirm my appointment was firmly presented by a somewhat rude woman. She was not willing discuss my reason for the appointment, it was too painful for her and she cut me off. When I asked for the address, she said "west campus" - (I'm from San Francisco, living in Wisconsin... ) I kindly told her that I needed an address that I am new to the area, she told me the name of a restaurant. Still no address. I kindly said thank you and confirmed my appointment and hung up. (ugh!) My first point of contact and it was upsetting. At this juncture I was not sure if the medical staff would have the same attitude or be able to assist me with my health and concerns. Upon arrival....... I checked in as instructed by the text message I received and I was confirmed online. There were very large signs stating we needed to check in this way... so I did and trusted the system I waited over 20 minutes half hour and not one person at the desk checked to see if I was lost, needed help??? not even to just make sure I was okay... and every single person coming through was in the waiting room for near minutes until their appointment.... during that time over 6-8 people were called in to their appointments. Even the lost spouse got attention to find his other half who was in the bathroom. I finally asked the young girl at the desk about my appointment and why I haven't been called in as it was well past the scheduled time, she said I was not checked in?????? and pretty much looked at me and gave me the feeling that it was ALL my fault... really? I was sitting there the whole time! and I had a CONFIRMATION. the CLERICAL staff completely ignored me and I was sitting in the middle of the room in front of their desks. Honestly, I'm not sure what to think. This portion of my visit for my health appointment was awful. If this is the way your office treats women over 60 who are not exactly all blonde... then that's on you - clerical staff must have personalities to greet and check on all patients if they are sitting too long... or at least realize they have a job because patients exist? ! HOWEVER - The care I received from the Medical staff was excellent!! And very respectful, informed and KIND. I truly appreciated the medical staff I had that day and will return. but not without reservation to the clerical staff. Please take note. Cordially yours -"

"I was asked by the nurse if I had any questions/concerns for my provider. I gave her around 3-4 concerns that I had regarding my health. It appeared that she documented them in the chart. However, not a single one of those concerns was discussed by my provider. Instead, majority of the conversation was about the "genetic testing" questionnaire I was asked to complete. I did not qualify for the genetic testing, yet she continued to discuss it. She told me that I could still request the genetic testing even though I did not qualify for it and it would be an out of pocket cost since most insurances don't cover it. It felt more like a sales pitch rather than her being concerned about my health. I've only seen this provider one other time and both times it did not seem like she genuinely tried to get to know me. The appointment seemed rushed and I did not get the care that I was hoping for. The nurse at one point, prior to the provider entering the room, let me know that I was the last patient of the day. I'm not sure if the played into the duration of the appointment. All in all, I left the appointment frustrated, disappointed, and still filled with questions/concerns regarding my health. While I did reschedule with this provider for my next yearly physical exam, I will not go back to her. I will be looking for another provider that is in my insurance network."
