"This appointment was a rescheduled appointment from February, and when it was rescheduled, it was rescheduled for in the morning where I always schedule for in the afternoon. And when I called back to try to reschedule for an afternoon appointment, I was told I would not be able to get in to see him until October. For me, that was a little bit of a problem, but and at that time with that call, they were not very courteous at the desk, but it is what it is. Thank you."

"my apt. was rescheduled to be more convenient for the Dr. I was there 56 minutes after my apt. time before the dr. came in. Apparently it wasn't convenient for him. I was not told my eyes would be sensitive to the sun and tripped on the curb when I left. I did not have a driver because I was not told I would need one. I was handed a piece of paper from the Dr. that I couldn't read for a Rx, I had to ask his assistant what it was for. When I first arrived no one was at the desk and a young man was sitting in the room next to the desk and never acknowledged me until I asked him where the restroom was and that I had a 12:25 apt. I owned a business and had a rule that the client had to be acknowledged 6 seconds or 6 steps after entering the business. I think that should be applied there."

"Dr. Arensdorff is a very thorough, knowledgeable doctor, and I trust him with my eye care. The only complaint I have is that my appt. took 2 hours! I understand that there are many different checks to go through, and that there is a period of waiting until eyes are ready after dilation. But each time the doctor left the room, it seemed he was gone at least half an hour (and it was probably 20-30" before his initial appearance). In one case, he was gone 40 minutes. I don't know if this is due to poor scheduling or what, but it definitely hampered what I had expected to get done the rest of the day. With past doctors my appointments have usually been about an hour. Dr. Arensdorff's are always longer, and always require him being out of the room for extended periods of time, but never quite this long. A heads-up about the length of the appointment should be given to the patient when appointments are scheduled, so that they realize that this will be a longer than usual appointment."

"Pleasant experience"

"I attempted to book only a contact exam . I had recently had a full eye exam and glasses exam. When I was being roomed I clarified this and asked if I could only get a contact exam , as that's all I needed . It was over an hour of waiting after my appointment time before I was seen by the provider. He ran in and then ran out. My visit was 2.5 hours long with no updates that it would take this long . I have been to multiple different eye exam appointments and they have NEVER been 2.5 hours . While booking the appointment I was never told having your eyes dilated for sure had to be done and I was not planning ahead for that. I was told I had to have my eyes dilated when I got there despite questioning if I had to and not wanting to , and given no reason why I had to . After this appointment I had to pick up my children . Of this 2.5 hours I saw the provider for maybe 20 minutes , and most of it was spent being told to sit back down and someone else would be in. Multiple tests were done without being explained why or my permission asked . I was just told to follow the next person . My exam for my contacts which was the whole reason I was there was done with dilated eyes and I could not see. I was then given contacts that made my vision even worse and my vision was checked again , even though they were not my right prescription . I questioned if I needed to go with Dailey lenses or could look into 2week or 1 month lenses and my question was dismissed and was only provided the option for Dailey lenses . When I was done with my appointment I was left in a room wearing incorrect lenses and dilated eyes and given a sheet to reschedule a visit while I literally could not see much less read anything . No opportunity to ask questions as the provider and staff were very rushed . Very disappointing and poor experience for my first visit at this department."

"I see Dr every 6 months to monitor eye pressure. My Feb 22 appt was cancelled by office and rescheduled to March 13. About 10 days later the office called and cancelled March 13 appt and rescheduled to today April 30. When I expressed concern about being 2 1/2 months behind my 6 month schedule, the office only repeated numerous times to me that today April 30 was only available time. I trust Dr with my eye care and wonder if he is/was aware of the 2 1/2 month delay from MA office. I did not bring it up today because I was more concerned with my eye tests, images, and pressure"

"I could not recommend the ophthalmology department more highly. I waited most of the day on another department, and wasn't even getting a call-back. I called ophthalmology, thinking I would need a quick prescription for an infection. It was more. They were so good with me. They squeezed me into their schedule and spent a good amount of time with the exam. I appreciate their care. I am already recommending them to two other friends."

"At Christmas time I felt I was not seeing as well, so I tried to get my appointment moved sooner than 4/3/24. But I was unable to get my appointment moved up, I even called in on snow days to see if they had any cancellation. They always say call if you need help, but it didn't work for me."

Right after the exam, while I am sitting there, he started to do his notes on his computer for like 15 minutes. Like, I thought he was writing a paper or something. One would think he would address me and tell me what discovered first before he does his lengthy paperwork. Hot tip- maybe that was why he was so behind with appointments. Meet with patients first before you start documentation! I get being short staffed. I was respectful of that, but that is not an excuse to not be kind!!!!"

"My appointment was at 8:30 in Dyersville. At 8:50, not called back to the exam room. I called the Dubuque office and they said he was on the road. Shouldn't a person be notified by someone when they're running over 1/2 late?"
