Thomas Callahan, DO, is a pediatrician at Medical Associates Clinic in Dubuque, Iowa. Dr. Callahan specializes in the care of children from birth to age 18. Along with his partners, he provides hospital services including neonatal care in both the Nursery and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit as well as pediatric care for children admitted to the General Pediatric Unit.
Dr. Callahan completed his Bachelor of Science degree at Saint Ambrose University in 2003 and attended medical school at Des Moines University, where he graduated in 2007. After medical school, Dr. Callahan went on to complete his residency and served as Chief Resident at Blank Children's Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.
During his time at Medical Associates, Dr. Callahan has held numerous leadership positions, including Pediatric Chair at Mercy Hospital (2010 - 2016), President of the Mercy Hospital Executive Committee (2016 - 2018), the Medical Associates Board of Directors (2020 - present), and on the Hills and Dales Board of Directors (2016 - present). Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 6 children.
