Student Experiences

Thank you for choosing Medical Associates for your student experience!

Types of Student Rotations:

We have two different types of student experiences to offer for post-secondary students.

Observation:

Students interested in a program seeking observational hours (example: pre-med, pre-PA, pre-NP, radiology, nursing, etc.) The maximum observational hours granted will be up to 40 hours.

Hands-On:

Students who are in a program (NP, PA, PT, Med School) and required to have a specific amount of hours per semester rotation. The school must have a contract with Medical Associates.

Student Placement Request Process

Any student seeking observation or placement for clinical hours at Medical Associates must submit a request using the Student Rotation Request Form through the online system. Medical Associates partners with several education institutions.

Student Rotation Request Form

Our Human Resources team coordinates all student clinical rotation hours. We ask that you do not contact providers directly. If you would like to rotate with a specific provider, please make a notation on the bottom of the request form.

Immunization Records

To comply with guidelines from the CDC, Medical Associates requires the following immunizations in order to participate as a student. Click here for the list of required immunizations: Required Immunization List [PDF]

Timeline for Submission Requests

All requests are due at least 45 days in advance of the desired rotation or observation experience.

You will be notified via email within 2-4 weeks of accepting or declining your student placement request. If the request is for a start date greater than 12 months from request date, please allow additional time for processing.

Important Points to Consider

These guidelines are for all students requesting a rotation at Medical Associates. We would like to make an attempt to place all students; however, due to the high volume of requests and limited preceptor availability, we cannot guarantee a placement to every student. In addition, rotations may be limited to one or two per student due to the high demand.

Assignments will be scheduled according to the following priority:

First priority = Medical Students (DO/MD)

Second priority = Masters level and/or Doctoral level program students

Third priority = Observation requests

Please note: students who are current employees will receive priority placements.
